Our strategy

Our commitment to find treatments and ultimately cures through research, and to drive improvements in care and quality of life, remains as strong today as ever. Our new three-year strategy reflects that commitment, and our determination to press for change.

We’re also committed to making sure people with muscle-wasting conditions are involved in setting our priorities and the approach we take. That’s why our new strategy focuses not only on our core work, but also on four key areas that people with muscle-wasting conditions told us were particularly important to them:

  • fast track to treatments: pressing hard to get effective treatments to people faster
  • mental health matters: fighting for people to get better mental health support from the point of diagnosis and at every stage thereafter
  • advances in technology: pressing for new technology to be affordable and accessible, so people with even the most complex disabilities can benefit from opportunities
  • sport, leisure and exercise: campaigning to remove the barriers that stop people from using leisure facilities, and to promote sport, leisure and exercise as they help improve physical and mental health.
