Last years Bake a Difference day was on 9 November. People across the UK were raising dough, to help us fund groundbreaking research and life changing support. Thank you to everyone who took part!
This year you can Bake a Difference whenever you like so you can link your fundraising to a family celebration, a school or organisation fundraising week or your workplace Friday bake sale!
Bake a Difference in three simple steps:
2. Plan your event and invite your friends, family or colleagues.
3. Have fun raising money and baking a difference to the lives of the 110,000 people living with a muscle-wasting condition in the UK.
Let’s Bake a Difference together! Share your photos on social media with the hashtag #BakeADifference2024; we love seeing all the fun ways you are getting involved!

Where it started
11 years ago, a little boy called Sammy was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Inspired by other fundraising events at his school, Sammy’s parents decided to hold a bake sale to raise funds and awareness of their son’s rare condition. They went on to hold events throughout their local area and in 2017, we took it on as a national campaign. Sammy is 14 now and his goal this year is for us all to raise £13,000 together to help people across the country like him. Can you help Sammy bake a difference?

The difference you will bake…
Coffee and a slice of cake costs £5. A few slices can add up and help us make a real difference:
£60 means we could be there for anyone with a new diagnosis, helping them navigate their way through the challenges of living with a muscle-wasting condition
£100 can keep our helpline going, meaning we are there to provide vital support to anyone with muscle-wasting conditions
£180 would pay for laboratory equipment for researchers, enabling them to investigate new treatments for people with muscle-wasting conditions
The MDUK team is here to help you along on your way with your fundraiser. Give us a call on 0300 012 0172 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org – we would love to hear from you.
