Give and fundraise in memoryGive and fundraise in memory c.parker@muscu… Wed, 04/28/2021 - 13:53
Each gift will help us be there for individuals and families living with muscle-wasting conditions, and continue to fund world-class research into treatments and cures for all forms of muscular dystrophy.
Muscular Dystrophy UK receives no government funding, so every gift given in memory supports our mission to bring forward the day when we beat muscle-wasting conditions.
There are lots of different ways to pay tribute to someone special and help us be here for people living with muscle-wasting conditions:
- Giving a gift in memory: make a one-off or regular donation to commemorate the life of someone special
- Create a Remembrance Tribute: a special place online where friends and loved ones can share treasured memories
- Events in memory: take on a challenge or set up an event in memory of a loved one
- Supporting your funeral arrangements and memorial collections: create a funeral notice and order materials for your collection
- Leave a gift in your Will: leave a special gift to support our work

Fundraising in memoryFundraising in memory c.parker@muscu… Fri, 05/14/2021 - 13:16
We have a wide range of fundraising events you can get involved in, from bake sales to skydives. And if you have your own ideas on how you’d like to raise money, MDUK will support you to hold your own event too.
With an MDUK Remembrance Tribute, every penny raised through an event will be added to their page – so you can see just how much has been raised in memory of your loved one.
My eldest son Paul loved life and lived it to the full. He was bright, accomplished and his positivity left a mark on the people lucky enough to know him. He used to say that if he had his life again, he wouldn’t change anything about it – not even his muscle-wasting condition.
Before Paul died just over four years ago, he calmly told us that he’d written his own funeral plans. When he passed away, we found out that he wanted us to hold a disco for his wake. He loved a party.
When we started fundraising in Paul’s memory, a disco felt like the perfect way to start raising money for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Since then we’ve done all kinds of fundraising and set up a page in his memory on
This means we can let people know what fundraising event we’re doing next and how they can get involved. It is also a way for us to keep Paul’s memory alive and to help MDUK continue their work to find treatments for muscle-wasting conditions like his. - Anne Peterson
If you’d like to find out more about holding an event in memory, simply contact your local Regional Development Manager who can help support your fundraising ideas.
Funeral and memorialFuneral and memorial c.parker@muscu… Fri, 05/14/2021 - 13:48
You can choose to create a funeral notice online that will provide guests with all the information they need to attend, including a map and a place to leave special thoughts and wishes. If you wish, the funeral notice can be used to let your guests know about any particular wishes for the day, or your chosen charity or charities for donation.
We can provide the following material to support your funeral, memorial service or celebration collections:
- donation envelopes to allow people to add Gift Aid to their donation, increasing their donation by 25p per pound at no extra cost to them.
- collection boxes to make it easy to donate.
- pin badges, a lovely way to remember someone special, are available to purchase in our online shop with proceeds coming directly to MDUK.
- we can also provide information about Muscular Dystrophy UK to share.
To order materials for your in-memory collection, simply complete the order form below or contact our Supporter Care team by emailing email@example.com or by calling 0300 012 0172.
If you have already held a collection, you can send us the funds online or if you’d prefer to send us the proceeds of your collection by post, kindly make cheques payable to Muscular Dystrophy UK, 61A Great Suffolk Street, London SE1 0BU.
