In 2014 Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust appointed a neuromuscular care advisor and specialist respiratory physiotherapist to support young adults living in the areas of Heywood, Rochdale and Middleton.

The specialist care advisor, Janice Fidler, acts as a key worker to children and adults with disabling and or life-limiting neuromuscular conditions from diagnosis in childhood. Janice supports families from diagnosis and beyond, developing care plans as well as helping with the transition between children’s and adult’s services. She also co-ordinates care between GP, community and hospital services.

The team are currently looking to link up with people living with neuromuscular conditions in the area. To make contact call: Tel: 01706 837067 or email:

The team

Janice Fidler

Specialist Care Advisor

Janice is a paediatric physiotherapist who has worked for many years across health, local authority and the voluntary sector. She recently moved from her post at a children’s hospice to take on this new role, working closely with specialist respiratory physiotherapist Linsi Delaney. Janice supports children and young people with neuromuscular conditions and their families through their journey from diagnosis to adult services and beyond.

Linsie Delaney

Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist

Linsie Delaney works with children and young adults with respiratory conditions to help them and their parents manage their condition. Linsie is establishing a respiratory service for people with neuromuscular needs; helping to bridge the gap between children’s and adults’ neuromuscular services.
