11 mile Winchester Walk Loop

View of Winchester

The route is simply a way around the edge of the town. There are lovely open views on one side and town views on the other. The centre of Winchester is never more than 1.5 miles from the route. It crosses all the bus routes going out of the town making access to and from the route easy at several different points. There are no stiles and only one hill, St Giles. This can be avoided if, as you leave Winchester College behind you, you use the map to find your way along the line of the river to the point where you can re-join the main route as it enters Winnall Moors nature Reserve.

The Inner Wheelchair Way

Winchester Cathedral

Winchester Tourist Board already has an inner-city circuit for wheelchairs. Barbara has devised a much shorter one which does not venture as much into the town. It is very pleasant.

We hope you enjoy these walks around Winchester!
